Narrative summary
In order to raise the awareness of parliament members and local CSOs working on policy advocacy in Morocco about digital rights and privacy issues, the MENA Hub and SimSim launched in June 2021 an advocacy campaign aimed at advocating for the adoption of an enhanced digital privacy legislation in Morocco.
The campaign resulted in the attendance of 21 stakeholder participants and the consultation of 20 parliament members on data privacy (10 MPs of the national list and 10 MPs representing local constituencies) and the development and submission of a technical proposal including amendments to the data privacy legislation
