EIU in the World

Global Education First Initiative’s Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regional advocacy workshop on Global Citizenship Education (GCED) was held on 12 – 16 December 2015 in Amman, Jordan.

Composed of 41 participants from 23 countries, a group of young people from the region gathered to discuss the role of GCED in preventing violence, intolerance and discrimination.
During the 4-day workshop, the young activists participated in advocacy skill building sessions and learned how such advocacy campaigns can be used in regional, national and global level. The group also analyzed other methods in promoting global citizenship, such as the ‘Education We Want, Youth Advocacy Toolkit’ created by the GEFI Youth Advocacy group.

The workshop was organized by the GEFI, in partnership with Generations for Peace and Educate a Child.
