Challenges

Civil society in Tajikistan is one of the sectors that assist to all stakeholders to address challenges of vulnerable minorities, and new and innovative technologies and ideas can be very helpful and strong. It can also help to local CSOs and activists, especially who acts on local community level, to innovatively engage donors, to address the needs of grass-root beneficiaries, and build healthy social partnership between all three sectors.

This can only be possible, if the third sector and CSOs are able to use and involve new, accessible technology. However, the current reality is that the number of CSO in the Tajikistan, who can both understand and work with evolving new technologies is very limited.

After participation in Digital Security Workshop and Regional TechBootCamp in Almaty, Kazakhstan we realized that CSOs in Tajikistan also need to gain similar knowledge and implement their ideas with using the innovative approaches and new solutions. The digital Security in Tajikistan is one significant issue, especially in the third sector and on the grass-root level. Technology doesn’t stop and develops every moment and public activists have to develop in this direction too.

This two-day interactive workshop will bring together civil society activists, local and international technology experts. It will strengthen the capacity of the civil society activists to innovatively formulate technology-based projects and programs, gain knowledge on new digital security applications and programs, and introduce a range of technology tools the civil society could use to increase the impact of their work.
